about divya

Divya is a Hatha & Ashtanga Vinyāsa yoga teacher trained in Mysore & a vipassana meditation practitioner since 2009. She holds a second degree black belt in Taekwondo & started teaching at the tender age of 15!

A true yogini on & off the mat - Divya is an acclaimed creative producer in the Indian film industry & was instrumental in coming up with the idea and developing – ‘Dangal’ a blockbuster film, which broke not only Indian but also international records.

about deepa

Deepa is an Ashtanga Vinyāsa yoga practicioner and teacher who teaches in the tradition of David Garrigues and Guru Pattabhi Jois. She practices Iyengar Yoga and Vipassana since 2009. She is also a practioner of Ayurvedic Wisdom who is consistently working to align her life with the Laws of nature. This informs her teaching style making it a lot about self-awareness and exploration for her students.

Having lived the deadline and target-driven corporate life in the advertising industry, her teaching is designed to empower her students to overcome the challenges of modern-day living.

GROUP CLASSES

An in-studio yoga class with Ashtanga Vinyāsa and Hatha styles that empowers a beginner and a seasoned student to understand and apply ‘skill in action.”​

ONLINE CLASSES

A high intensity yoga class for all levels, utilizing a blend of Ashtanga Vinyāsa and Hatha yoga styles to create an energizing and a peaceful yoga practice. ​
Monday-Wednesday- Friday
​7.15 to 8.15am on Zoom​
Rs.2500/- per month​​

PRIVATES

Classes are designed to suit the specific needs of the student, therapy and otherwise, pre-natal and post-natal yoga sessions, yoga for sports,etc.​

EVENTS

Workshops or retreats are organized from time to time to facilitate a deeper immersion into the teachings of Yoga.​

About us

We are a team of Yoga teachers who have experienced the life-changing impact of Yoga and help others to find their joy by doing the same. Backed by a varied and extensive experience, include living life in the corporate lane, The Happy Yogi was born in 2011. All our teachers are trained in different forms of yoga including hatha, ashtanga vinyasa, Iyengar yoga and prenatal/post-natal.

I'd been practicing yoga with Divya since 2019 and more recently, practicing Ashtanga with Deepa. From just a weekly class, it has become the most vital part of my life. Both Divya and Deepa encourage self-practice and work extremely hard to create an environment where it's easily possible. Whether you are sick, on your period or just having a rough day, they modify asanas to enable you to continue with the practice without hampering your health. Practicing yoga has many benefits. But practicing with Divya and Deepa leaves you feeling rested, refreshed and ready to take on anything life throws at you.

I have been practising Yoga with Divya over a year and a half and have given a lovely review on this page on that. I decided to try Svadhyaya and try Yoga beyond the Mat too with them and it was a great experience. It enables you to apply the practical theory of Yoga in your day to day life. In this course i realised we are living in a world shielded with external objects and a materialistic world which is ultimately temporary. Svadhyaya enabled me to open my eyes to look beneath myself and self introspect myself on a deeper level. Being off gadgets from evening onwards and journaling everyday helped me realise that we are so dependent on things and stimulants around us. I am glad i experienced this course to go deeper and feel better. I would highly recommend everyone to do this to feel a better version of yourself :-)

I started my journey in December. The experience has been enriching, enlightening, progressive and continues being so even in ‘stay at home’ times. The variety, combination and application in every class is a learning experience. A new session means a new offering. There is something for everyone’s preferred practice. I was a bit anxious as this was my first encounter with online yoga sessions, but the experience was very fulfilling. Divya was very patient, encouraging, attentive and clear in her instructions. The perfect antidote to our lockdown & beyond! The morning practise is something I look forward to always. I especially love that we learn both the components of exercise as well as calming meditative breathing & various pranayama. I absolutely love learning with Divya as she is patient, thorough, understanding & always fun! Why I teach:

Asana is often the entry point to a deeper practise that is taken off the mat. I want students to realise that yoga is much more than asanas. Detangling ourselves from the past & future, Now is where we are supposed to be. This realisation which often starts on the mat – reflects off the mat as well!
